Patrice began playing at
the age of 17.
His
musical preferences are really opened with heavy Metal,
hard rock,
Funk, Acid-Jazz, Rock-fusion
and listening to bands including,
Iron
Maiden, King Crimson, Metallica, Thin Lizzy,
Mercyful Fate, AC/DC, Red Hot Chili Peppers, King's X,
Fishbone, FFF, Skunk Anansie, Bjork, Marcus Miller,Maceo
Parker, Tower of Power
etc..
He studied bass playing
for 3 years with a French music teacher and began playing
in many differents groups mostly rock and metal, and
gaining experience all the time.
Bass players who
captured his attention at this time include Steve
Harris,Stu Hamm, and inevitably Marcus Miller.

To learn more and improve
his musical studies, he enrolled at the CMCN at Nancy. He
began to play for many well known guitarists in France
including Chistophe Godin. This was soon followed by a
course at the London Musical Institute, more to gain
contacts within the music industry than intensive study.
He spent his time productively, playing with many bands in
London clubs.
Patrice was still in
London when he was contacted by Patrick Rondat - French
Instrumental Hard Rock Guitarist - in 1994, and invited to
audition in view to work together. The meeting and the
audition were a success, and Patrice appeared as bass
player on the 'Amphibia' album released in 1996.
The 'Amphibia Tour'
followed the album release. Playing the entire Tour with
Patrick, the inclusion of Patrice Guers own composition 'Tryon
Avenue', gave the opportunity to see this bass man in
action as a solo player! In 2002, Patrice joined the great
metal band Rhapsody for the tour, where he immediately
conquered the fans.
And in April 2004,
you will ear his new projects with
the bands VISIONS (with
Dominique Leurquin (Rhapsody).) and Patrick Rondat.
Since
then, Patrice continue the albums with Rhapsody (of Fire
now), and his talent rides on the Internet with his
MYSPACE.
Waiting for the new Inner Visions album
and still touring with Rhapsody of Fire, he also
joinsJulien Jacquemond and Kevin Choiral in the band of
guitarist Frederic de Cecco : Further Dimension. |

first finger on a bass

first band called Headline (instrumental heavy
metal) .no album, no concert.
1991:
One year in a music college (CMCN in Nancy-France)
1992: My first serious
band : The Team (with French guitarist Christophe
GODIN). Heavy metal covers.
1993: One year in a
music college in England called M.I. (Musician Institute
London)
1994:
Patrick RONDAT called me when I was living in
London (3 albums together and Tours including the G3
with Joe Satriani, Michael Schenker and Uli Roth).
Support act for Gary Moore (95), AC/DC (96)...
Dec 1999:
Consortium Project European Tour. Luca came in
Lyon (France) to see us. I met him for the 1st time. He
was completely drank...drinking all the the beers in our
tour bus !
Summer 2001:
By a sunny day, I went to see a rehearsal of
Rhapsody before their tour in South America. All I saw
was 4 guys playing with a ball in a swimming pool. I
spent 2 hours catching the ball everytime it was out of
the water ! I must admit during this time Luca was
composing on his computer in the dark rehearsing studio.
Dec 2001:
Dominique Leurquin (I know him for 15 years)
called me to ask if I wanted to be the new bassplayer of
Rhapsody.
Feb 2002: working hard
on the songs for the tour. My right hand cries !
2004: it is for shure, one of the best
musical professional year for patrice, between the CD
released and the concert's tours with Patrick Rondat,
InnerVisions and Rhapsody ! |
